The Future Full of Forests Fellowship is a leadership and capacity-building programme for community-rooted practitioners working at the intersection of people, nature, and local stewardship across Northeast India - combining immersive learning, mentorship, peer exchange, and hands-on application.

To contextualise projects at Canopy Collective Goa within the existing and active ecosystem of organisations, citizens, practitioners, farmers, educators, mappers, urban planners and other groups working on environment issues in Goa, we are in the process of interviewing experienced individuals who have worked in these areas for many decades.

Exploring complex relationships between humans and macaques in Assam's changing landscapes through photovoice, art-based methods, and community collaboration, documenting diverse emotions and experiences beyond traditional "conflict" narratives.

Empowering conservationists to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion in their practice through workshops and safe spaces that help practitioners identify implicit biases and develop emotional intelligence.

A growing circle of people learning from the wild, where forest means not just wooded jungles, but all living landscapes like rivers, lakes, forest villages, and the community of people rooted in these places.

Prioritizing trust, respect, and long-term safety of elephants and their carers through positive reinforcement training programs that build mutual understanding between captive working elephants and mahouts.

Preserving and amplifying the ecological wisdom of Indigenous women across Northeast India through collaborative storytelling, illustrated books, and documentary films that honor traditional knowledge.

Understanding and protecting the freshwater ecosystems of Northeast India through community-based research, documentation, and conservation initiatives that integrate scientific study with local knowledge systems.
